Nyssa

Nyssa is an approximately 8 year old female German Shepherd who first joined the rescue in 2020 from a shelter in California. She was in need of hip replacement surgery, which we were able to do with the help of Stella's Shelter Fund, and now she gets around beautifully and loves to jump in the car for rides. Nyssa was adopted into a loving home but due to a death in the family, they were unable to keep her and she came back to us this spring. Nyssa did have a cancerous mammary mass that was removed, but there were no other signs of cancer so she has a clean bill of health and is looking for her new forever home. Nyssa does well with cats. She has lived with dogs in the past but is a little unsure of new dogs at first, and gives little snaps if they get too close so just needs slow introductions and would prefer calmer companions. She's good with the goats and horses around here, walks nicely on leash, and has good recall. She has the sweetest way of putting her head on your chest for cuddles on the couch, and is deserving of a wonderful home for her remaining years. Her adoption fee is $200.
