Malcolm is a 3 year old male GSD who was found as a stray in California and ended up at Downey Shelter for almost 2 months before we pulled him. Unfortunately, likely because of anxiety from being in the shelter, Malcolm started biting at his tail (which was already a stub) and created an open wound. We had him examined by our vet as soon as he arrived, and it was decided that further amputation would be the best option for him. He healed up quickly though and then started work on finding his forever home. He got in a few training sessions with Veteran K-9 Training to help teach him some basic commands while he waited.
Malcolm went to a new home for a few weeks but he and the resident dog continued to have some conflict over toys, so his adopters felt it would be best for their current dog for Malcolm to find a new home. Malcolm is a sweet boy who loves his people and would likely do well with a more submissive dog. No kitties for this boy though.
